Meaning of the name JESUS
Copyright By Pastor G. Reckart owner of WWW.WHYAPOSTOLIC.COM

Jesus, the name above all names, and to which in the future judgment every knee shall bow (Phi 2:10);

Jesus, the only name given under heaven among men whereby we must all be saved (Acts 4:12);

The guess names Jehovah and Yahweh are false and fake. Any use of them is false and fake. Any doctrine based upon them is false and fake. The name of God before the foundation of the world was Jesus. The name of God during the Old Testament was Jesus. The absence of the use of the name of Jesus in the Old Testament does not mean it did not exist. Any claim that Jesus name began at Bethlehem with the humanity of Christ is false and fake. The name of Jesus is the name of the Father. And it is the name humanity, the Son of God, the human side of God inherited. It is a lie this name began with the birth of Jesus. It is Jesus Christ name we must confess to avoid being an antichrist. We must confess Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. To confess Jehovah or Yahweh has come in the flesh is antichrist. This is not a confession Jesus Christ is come in the flesh.

Jesus, the name into which converts are baptized to receive remission of sins (Acts 2:38);

Did you know the name Jesus was crucified on the Cross with him? Did you know there were five nails used on the Cross? Did you know Jesus name in Hebrew, Greek, and Latin does not contain Jehovah or Yahweh? And, did you know there is salvation in none other because none other name was crucified on the Cross with Jesus on Calvary? Do you love the crucified name? Then go to your baptism and accept the name above all names. Get the Catholic guess names Jehovah and Yahweh out of your mouth.

Never say them again as names of God. Never say again hallelujah or halleluyah, said to mean praise Jehovah or praise Yahweh. Learn to praise Jesus name, the name above all names. Learn to say "hallelu-Jesus" every time the others yell hallelujah.

Much has been written about Jesus but little exist about his name.  What you find in most dictionaries is false or misleading.  Men who call themselves scholars are no more knowledgeable about the name Jesus then they are about his salvation.  For the most part they quote what someone else has said about the name referring back to a name supposed to be Hebrew.  The time has come that someone must open up the truth about the greatest name of God ever revealed to the human ear.  The reason this is now so necessary, is because there are many gainsayers now spreading the lie that the name of Jesus is false.

Jesus:

The name Jesus is spelled IESUS in the 1611 King James Version of the Bible.  It was not spelled with the letter "J" because this letter form did not exist until a curved tail was put on the letter "I" to form the new letter J.

The letter "I" was changed into the letter "J" forming a new letter.  The sound of the new letter is "Ja" having the soft "g" sound whereas the letter "G" has the Ga sound.  There is a distinction between the sound of the letters "J" and "G" although at times they may sound alike.

It has been alleged by some that the letter "J" did not exist before the 16th century and this means the sound of the letter did not exist either.  This is false.  It is not true.  To claim the sound of the letter "J" did not exist until the alphabet letter was created from the letter "I" is simply a lie.

The sound now attributed to the letter "J" was "one" of three sounds that the letter "I" could stand for.  All that happened when the letter "J" was formed was to separate the sound from the letter "I" and give it, its own alphabet character.  Thus, in many words or names where the letter "I" had the "J" sound, the new letter stood  in the place where the letter "I" once stood.  There was no evil in this and no plot by Gutenburg or anyone else to profane the alphabet, words, or names as they are now spelled using the new letter "J."

It is scholarly falsehood for anyone to say the sound associated with the letter "J" did not exist until the letter was created from the letter "I."  The sound of the letter "J" was always resident in the letter "I", thus those skilled in lingusitics and alphabet letters would know why the letter "J" was invented from the letter "I" and not some other letter.

If anyone claims the "sound" of the letter "J" did not exist prior to the creation of the alphabet character, they are wrong. Look at this picture of the Egyptian language 2,000BC and you will see the sound of the letter "J" existed:

It is a falsehood for anyone to claim the letter "J" and its sound did not exist until the 16th century.  Many of our letter sounds come down to us from the Egyptian and Phoenician languages.  These are the two root sources of ancient Paleo Hebrew, Greek, and other languages.  The letter "I" in all cases represented the sound of the following letters"

"I" as in Israel;
"Y" as in Yisrael;
"J" as in Jezreel.

It is to be noted that when the letter "I" was followed by a consonant it had the "I" sound as in "Israel."  And when the letter "I" was followed by a vowel it had the "J" sound.  The "Y" sound atributed to the letter can only be sounded when it also is followed by a vowel.  It may be a matter of choice to say "Is-rael or Yis-rael."  But to claim there was no sound of the letter "J" associated with this ancient letter is false.

It is now the custom of those trying to destroy the name of Jesus to lie about the letter "J" and the sound associated with it. To claim all cases where the letter "J" now stands in the Bible should be corrected to the letter "Y" and given the "ya" or "ye" sounds is wrong. The only reason for this perversion is to attack and destroy the name of JESUS!

When it is alleged the letter "J" and its sound did not exist prior to the 16th century there is then an attempt to corrupt the name JESUS into something like Yahshua or Yeshua.  While the letter "I" is changed from "J" into "Y" it still represents the same person, the Messieh and King of Israel.  Why was the letter "J" not changed back into the letter "I" as it is found in the ancient alphabets and given that sound in the name of JESUS?  Jesus was spelled "IESUS" in the 1611 King James Version.  If the letter "I" here did not have the "J" sound, how would we say IESUS except then I-ESUS.  The fact is the letter "I" was to be articulated with the vowel "e" this "IE" was to be spoken together.  We either correctly give the letter "I" its "J" sound as it originally had or it would take on the "ee" sound and we would have EE-SUS.  In many Greek transliterations this is incorrectly done with "IESOUS."  It is assumed the letter "I" with the vowel "e" should be articulated as "ee-sous" and this is false.  Why?  Because "IESOUS" is a Jewish name and not a Greek name and should be pronounced in Aramaic or Hebrew not Greek.  That is the fallacy of so many supposed language experts.  They try to take a foreign name and sound it out in the language it has come into.  The name "IESOUS" in Greek is a Jewish name and should be pronounced with theJewish language in mind to obtain the correct sounding.

Here is a copy of the Phoenician Alphabet that shows the "J" sound included in the letter "I".  You will see also the "Y" sound.  It is important to know which sound the letter "I" has in order to pronounce a word or name correctly.

Since there is no one living who knows exactly how a word or name was pronounced, it is a fruitless argument to claim the letter "J" sounds like a "Y" or that the letter "I" sounds like "ee" as it is made in the Greek.  There may be hundreds of years of incorrectly pronouncing a letter form, word, or name, as is done with the Spanish for Jesus, where it is pronounced Hey-sous.  This is incorrect and no matter how hard a person tries, the letter "I" in Paleo-Hebrew, Latin, or Greek cannot come out with the "H" sound.  There is a polution of the sound in this one case.  Under what conditions did the letter "I" take on the "Hey" sound?

It is incorrect then to say the name Jesus, spelled with the letter "J" is false.  To claim this is false because the letter "I" should have the "Y" sound frustrates matters just as bad as the claim against the letter "J".  Because there is no letter "Y" in the Paleo-Hebrew nor a letter for "W."  The sound of "Y" is confessed to be included in the letter "I" and the letter "W" must be confessed was originally a "Vaw."  How then can those who attack the name of Jesus then present to us the names "Yahweh and Yahshua" when both of these guess names contain letters and letter sounds not found according to their rule in the Paleo-Hebrew alphabet?

Now what does the name of Jesus mean and is there a more accurate spelling in Hebrew?

First, the name Jesus in English is the same as Iesous in Greek when it is understood the "I" has a "J" sound because the name Iesous is a Hebrew name and should be so pronounced.  So in English we have Jesus and in Greek we have Jesous, the letter "I" correctly having the "J" sound.

The name Jesus is derived from two words:

Salvation=Hebrew Strong's 3468-"yesha, yeh-shah.  Please notice how the "h" is treated as silent and not used in "yesha".  This happens a lot in Jewish names and words, the "h" is often dropped.  In this case, "yesha" is the rendering of Strong and other Scholars.  Now since there is no "y" in Paleo-Hebrew, only the letter "I" or "Iod" the Greek "iota" the word spelled "yesha" should be "Iesha."  This is returning the "yod" back to its parent "iod."  Here is where the name Jesus begins to take its form.  Since the letter "I" can also have the sounds of "Y" and "J" we apply the rule of grammar that when the "I" is followed by a vowel it is pronounded as a "J."  When the "I" is followed by a consonant it is pronounced as an "I" as in Israel.  Since the letter "I" is followed by the consonant "s" it has the "I" sound.  With this rule of grammar, the "Y" in "yesha" is returned to an "I" and then correctly into the present letter "J" that has the soft "g" sound in Paleo-Hebrew.  Thus, "Yesha" correctly becomes "Jesha."  It is necessary to add an "s" at the end for syntax and masculinity. Thus, Jesha(s), and this is pronounced "Je-shahs, which is exactly the same as saying JESUS!  What does this name mean?  It means salvation.

There is another factor that must be examined and accepted concerning the name Jesus: that is, the first three letters of "Yesha" is correctly "YEH" or "JEH".  We have already found that "Yesha" is also "Yeshas" and at the same time "Jeshas."  We now discover going back that "Yesha" is the same as "YEH-SHAH" and when the "s" is added to this for syntax and masculinity we have "Yeh-shahs and then Jeh-shahs." Now where does "Yeh" or "Jeh" come from and what does it signify?

The first place we discover the "Jeh" used with a name is in Numbers 12:16:

These are the names of the men which Moses sent to spy out the land. And Moses called Oshea the son of Nun JEHOSHUA.

Note this carefully: Joshua's name was at the first "Oshea."  Moses added three letters to the front of "Oshea" and formed a new name "Jeh-Oshea" or as changed "Jeh-oshua."  Notice the error of changing the letter "e" into a "u."  Now the name "Oshea" is "How-shea" Strong's #1954 and means "deliverer."  Oshea did not deliver Israel from Egypt.  He did not deliver the Ten Commandments or other Laws of God. In fact, he fullfilled his name as "deliverer" when he took the people of Israel across the Jordan river over into the promised land. Oshea, delivered the people safe into the land of their inheritance.  This very "deliverance" would be applied to Jesus who would deliver his people from their sins over into the Kingdom of God, the inheritance of all the children of light.  So the name "Oshea" has an affinity to the name of Jesus.  Now when we add the three letters "Yeh" or "Jeh" to Oshea, we have the new name "Jehoshua."  When this is Greecianized the "eh" is dropped between the "J" and the "o." This is really a falsehood.  Why"  Because the removal of "eh" from the letter "J" profanes the name "Jeh-Oshea" by removing the contraction of the name of God.  The name of God?  Yes!  The letters "Yeh or Jeh" are a contraction of the divine name given to Moses at the burning bush.  What was that divine name?  It was "Ehjeh asher Ehjeh."  The saced name given to Moses at the buring bush by which Moses would deliver the people of Israel from Egyptian bondage was "EHJEH."  This name was contracted down to the three letters "Jeh."  These three letters are the prefix to several Old Testament names:   Jehucal, Jehud, Jehudi, Jehudiajah, Jehush,, Jehiel, Jehieli, Jehizkiah, Jehoadah, Jehoaddan, Jehoahas, Jehoash, Jehohannan, Jehoiachin, Jehoiachin's Jehoiada, Jehoiakim, Jehoiarib, Jehonadabn, Jehonathan, Jehoram, Jehoshabeath, Jehoshaphat, Jehosheba, Jehoshua, Jehovah, Jehozabad, Jehozadak, Jehu, Jehubbah.

Here is the revelation as Moses saw it.  He added "Jeh" to the name of Oshea and took these three letters from the sacred name "Ehjeh asher Ehjeh." These three letters were added to many othe names.

We see now that in the name of Jesus in the Greek as Iesous, it is really Iehsous.  Thus Ieh becomes corrected to Jeh the very first three letters in the name of Jehoshua.  Now what does Jeh signify in the name of Jehsus?  I means the God of the burning bush, the God of deliverance.  Thus scholars who know this will say the name of Jesus means God has become salvation, or God is salvation. Perverters change God here to Jehovah or Yahweh, two names invented by Catholic monks in the 13th and 16th centuries respectively. How could the names Jehovah or Yahweh be used way back then when they did not exist? To say Jesus name means Jehovah or Yahweh is salvation is a flat out lie.

Moses

The name "Moses" strikes us as the identity of one of the greatest men in ancient monotheistic history.  His name is known by little children in the story of the mother and father who hid their little son to keep the wicked Pharoah from having him aborted, ...killed at birth.  They hid him in the flags (bulrushes).  Now the name flags is another name for papyrus pap-yrus (pap-irus) with the "us" having some connection with that which grows in water.

As can be seen to the left, the Egyptian word for water is "mu." And when the daughter of Pharoah took Moses out of the water she called him in the Egyptian language "MOUSES" or as later Grecianized "Moseus" and finally as "Moses." We are told by ancient authorities that the name Moses  means just as I have described with "Mo" meaning "water" and "Uses" meaning he who is saved by water. Moseus is more accurately Museus when we convert the Mo back to Mu.  If we drop the "M" and replace this with a "J" we would have Juseus and this is remarkable since Moses prophecied that another would come like unto him and he the people were to follow or be destroyed. We can see that "Mo" is accurately taken from the Egyptian "mu" and we shall make all the authorities who claim expertise in ancient linguistics to deny that "uses" is the correct ancient articulation of "ses or sus." I will here quote one of the recognized ancient authorities on the antiquity of the Jews:

"Hereupon it was that Thermuthis (Pharoah's daughter) imposed this name Mouses upon him, from what had happened when he was put into the river; for the Egyptians call water by the name of Mo, and such as are saved out of it, by the name of Uses: so by putting these two words together, they imposed this name upon him. And he was, by the confession of all, according to God's prediction, as well for his greatness of mind as for his contempt of difficulties, the best of all the Hebrews, for Abraham was his ancestor of the seventh generation" (Josephus, Antiquities, Book II, Chapter 9, Paragraph 6).

It it obvious to any person of rational mind that we have here a great testimony to the name of Jesus that it did not derive from the name of any pagan god but its parts and its meaning come from a far ancient antiquity. When it is properly understood that "Je" is the abbreviation of "YEH" or "JEH" the sacred name of God at the burning bush, and that "Uses or Usus" (these are the same), we have in the name of Jesus a very powerful new identity as the "GOD WHO SAVES BY WATER."  So the name of Jesus in a shortened meaning would be simply Saviour!  In the very name of Jesus we have the authority of our New Testament water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38).

When any apostate comes saying they have proof that the name of Jesus comes from Zeus or Iesa or some other false god or goddess, they are spreading lies and hate against the name of our Great Saviour.  These apostates who have recanted the name of Jesus claiming it is a false name must repent and do their first works over or perish.  And if they refuse to repent, then they will be damned!  Any apostate who has called the name of Jesus the "pig god" name and or has confessed or taught that it comes from the Latin word for pig, is damned!  If you deny the name of Jesus you will be denied in heaven.  The name of Moses in its ancient antiquity is so connected to the name of Jesus that anyone who can receive the revelation will now know why Moses added "Yeh" or "Jeh" to the name of Oshea and thus signify that when the Messiah came he would be the one who God would raise up and to him would the people gather.  It would not be Mouses who would save them this time but Jehuses (Jesus-pronounced the same). And whosoever received not this prophet would be destroyed from among the people (Acts 3:22-23).  It is not enough that you receive the person of the Saviour, YOU MUST BELIEVE UPON AND RECEIVE HIS NAME!  And that name is "Jesus!" If you know not the revelation of that name YOU CANNOT BELIEVE UPON IT!

Trust now in the name of Jesus and believe UPON IT for your salvation.  Do not recant his holy name and do not let others deceive you that it is a false name.
